He’s not the first ex-president to be called, according to The Washington Post. Both Bill Clinton and George W. Bush have reported for jury duty since their presidencies, though each was dismissed. Joe Biden and Chief Justice John Roberts have also failed to make the cut in recent years.
It makes sense that ex-POTUSes don't tend to make it onto juries. For one, who exactly is going to make them serve if they'd rather not interrupt their busy schedules of golf games and incredibly lucrative speaking gigs? And there's no doubt that the opinions of a former president would probably have some undue influence on their co-jurors.
