Taylor Swift has confirmed that her mother, Andrea Swift's cancer is back.
Andrea Swift, 61, was first diagnosed with cancer back in 2015. She was treated and got better, but it has returned.
In a new interview with Elle magazine, the Shake It Off singer made this sad revelation and said her mum's illness has changed her perspective on how she views things. She claims little things don’t bother her as much now and she gives all her "worry, stress and prayers to real problems."
Taylor wrote an open letter published in the April issue of Elle magazine to mark turning 30 years old. She titled it 30 Things I Learned Before Turning 30.
In the letter, the singer wrote:
I’ve had to learn how to handle serious illness in my family. Both of my parents have had cancer, and my mom is now fighting her battle with it again.
It’s taught me that there are real problems and then there’s everything else. My mom’s cancer is a real problem.
She continued:
I used to be so anxious about daily ups and downs. I give all of my worry, stress, and prayers to real problems now.
